Two ACT-SO members participated in the program. Bryan Thompson, a National Gold Medalist, and Terica Anthony, a Local Gold Medalist.

McMiracle on 38th Street, is a non-profit organization, formed in 1995 to provide bikes and helmets to underprivileged Central Indiana youth on an annual basis.

More than 750 fifth graders from Indianapolis Public Schools, Indiana School for the Deaf, Pike Townships, Washington Townships, Hamilton Southeastern and Mt. Vernon School Districts have received bicycles, helmets and bibles.

This program has greatly expanded over the 19 years. 1,000 bikes were given away by Tracey and Reggie Jones and their friends and supporters.

All recipients are referred by their school’s principal or social worker based upon the child’s financial challenges, academic excellence, superior citizenship or terminal illness.

The McMiracle Elizabeth M. Thompson Youth Award was created to honor and empower middle and high school students who have made significant impact on the lives of others, demonstrated great leadership within their community and who have excelled academically. The McMiracle Elizabeth M. Thompson Youth Award hopes to encourage and acknowledge today’s youth who act as role models and exhibit extraordinary commitment to public service and social responsibility.

Our own Top Teens of America President, Stephan Mitchell, received the Elizabeth M.Thompson Award (for academics and outstanding community service, etc.)   At Elizabeth M. Thompson is the wife of the CEO of McDonalds-a North Central High School grad. ACT-SO Chair, Sandra Parker, recommended Stephan for this prestigious award.
